Day 1: Art Roscoe Ski Trail

Day 1: Wow, this is going to be a hard one. Today I spent 3 hours on the Art Roscoe ski trails, serving on the the Allegany State Park Nordic Ski Patrol. I wrapped up my supplies in a gallon zip lock bag and stuffed it in my patrol pack that had little room to spare. I even had to forfeit my wonderful constant comment tea to have room for water... Oh the sacrifices for art.😉 Off I went to my assigned place in this magically beautiful forest. This had to be the most beautiful day of the winter, as the trees were white with snow and the sky a beautiful crisp blue. it was a real bluebird day.

first thing that I realized, as I set up my paints, was that I had forgotten to pack a paper towel. Painting without a paper towel is tricky but possible... I started painting without gloves, but after a few minutes my hands started complaining... on went the liner gloves. My hands became clumsy holding the brushes with gloves and I spent time digging in the snow trying to find dropped brushes. Ever once in awhile I’d look up and give a thumbs up to the racers as they skied by.

I must say that painting this small is going to be a challenge...
