Day 7: The Joylan

Day 7: Break out the popcorn, it’s time for a movie. The Joylan Theater in Springville, NY is a pretty special place for me. It’s where I saw my first movie, had my first date with my husband and where I took my son to see his first movie. Today, we can go to theaters with recliner seats and steep stadium seating, but the Joylan has one thing that throws theaters don’t, history

The Joylan was renovated this past year, but thankfully the old Art Deco feel is still there. We now have Movies on Demand, Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime... we can stay in our house to see all the latest movies, but nothing compares to going to the Joylan. when the lights go dim and I settle in with my popcorn, I’m seven again.

Can you remember what the first movie was that you saw in a movie theater?
