Day 5: Summer Home

Day 5: During my walk this morning I was greeted with most beautiful site... bluebirds! Not just one, but several, each sitting on fence posts basking in the sun. Usually I see Robins before bluebirds, but not this year. Today was a bluebird day in more than one way.

I had several ideas for paintings but when I saw how the sun was dancing on this local bluebird house... I just couldn’t get past the feeling of wanting to paint it with bluebirds. I enjoyed trying to make the wood look weathered with the nail stains, but I had to create my own bluebird from this mornings visit. I hope you all had a bluebird day!
