Day 3: Today was another drizzly day, but I think it was even wetter than yesterday. When I went for my morning walk I was really excited to see all the fog. I hurried home and grabbed my things, but by that time the fog had lifted. I knew what I wanted to paint today and I also knew it was going to be difficult to find a place to park my car. This little cinderblock building is next to the road on a blind curve. If the weather was better I would have tried to set up my easel in the snowbank, but rain and water color just don’t mix… or maybe they just mix too well. I ended up creating a very quick sketch and took a few reference photos. This piece was finished at home.

I’ve always wondered what the history of this little building was. I moved into the area in 1979 and this little place looked exactly like it does today. I guess if you want a building to last, cinderblock is the way to go.

Pull up a chair, put up your feet and listen to a few stories while the paint dries.
